Outlook Anywhere

Outlook anywhere enables you to access your Exchange server anywhere on the internet with the Outlook 2007 client. All that is required is an internet connection. Outlook Anywhere is the technology that all our Hosted Exchange 2007 plans utilise. Prior to Exchange 2007 this technology was known as RPC/HTTP (RPC over HTTP) a name that described how the technology worked. With RPC/HTTP Outlook tunneled RPC inside of HTTP packets, this was done as RPC packets were often blocked by firewalls and HTTP packets were allowed through. HTTP is the protocol that is utilised by your web browser.

Outlook Web Access

At the airport with no access to your laptop? Cant find a Wifi hotspot or get a signal on your mobile? Never fear Outlook Web Access provides full access to your Exchange 2007 mailbox utilising a web browser. Simply type your company URL into the web browser as follows: https://mail.company.com/exchange Exchange 2007 and mobility allows your employees to constantly be in touch with your customers or the office no matter where they are. In addition to email access with Exchange 2007 Outlook Web Access you can now access file attachments regardless of the type of application that was used to create them. In previous versions of Outlook Web Access the file attachment was actually downloaded to the local machine and in the event that the application that was used to create the attachment was missing the attachment could not be opened. This also caused security issues as attachments were left on the machine. With Outlook Web Access 2007 the attachment remains on the server. Outlook Web Access is included in all of our Hosted Exchange 2007 mailbox plans. 

Outlook Voice Access

One area of mobile messaging that is largely un-addressed is access from a regular telephone. Millions of people waste hours of time everyday on the roads and while it is not possible to use a laptop or mobile phone while driving, a hands-free way of accessing messages would allow this lost time to be regained. Exchange Server 2007 offers access to messages over the telephone using either speech recognition (English-only) or touch tone commands (support for numerous languages). Outlook Voice Access is a new capability of Exchange Server 2007 that revolutionizes the voice mail call-in experience. While traditional voice mail systems only allow access to voice mail messages, Outlook Voice Access provides access not only to voice mail messages but also to e-mail, calendar, personal contacts, and the entire company directory. E-mail messages can be played using text-to-speech, automatically detecting the language in which the message was sent and playing the audio version of the message in the corresponding language. Meetings can be accepted, declined, postponed, or cancelled over the phone. People can manage their personal and business contacts from any phone. Outlook Voice Access offers convenient access to all varieties of business communications from a regular telephone.
